D.F.A.P.A. Dr. Green has special interest and expertise in forensic psychiatry, particularly in civil issues. These include psychological trauma and stress, fitness for work and disability issues,and examinations for competency. He has substantial experience working for both the claimant / plaintiff and the defense in Workers' Compensation and personal injury cases. His fellowship gave him familiarity with psychosomatic, chronic pain, and organic conditions, and their effect on behavior. For over two decades, he treated a special group of ex-prisoners of war for the Veteran's Administration, giving him a comprehensive background with severe posttraumatic stress disorder patients. Training and Qualifications Dr. Green is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, and completed internship and residency training at the Institute of the Pennsylvania Hospital. He served as a psychiatrist and drug abuse program coordinator for the US Army in Fort Richardson, Alaska. He completed a fellowship in consultation / liaison psychiatry at UCSD, and has been in practice for over 28 years, now mostly involved with medical-legal work. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCSD School of Medicine and directs the forensic psychiatry seminar. He has been active in the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law since 1988 and in 1996 became certified in Forensic Psychiatry. In 2002 he was honored to be appointed a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. | |
