| JAMES A. STAUNTON, M.A., MFT (MFC 43811) Adolescent, Adult, and Couples Psychotherapy (619) 203-6307 • E-mail me here I approach each person I work with as an individual with his or her own unique history, perceptions, and emotional/intellectual conception of the world. As a therapist, I also approach the resolution of problems as coming primarily from within the individual. We all have within ourselves the impulse toward health and growth, and I see the role of the therapist as a facilitator of that process. | ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As your therapist, I will be constantly looking for the insights that are so hard for us to see on our own, provide caring support and guidance throughout the therapy. It is a wonderful and enriching process, and well worth your effort! In the last 8 years I have worked with hundreds of teens in therapy, and connect very well with that population. With adults and couples, I emphasize childhood issues that affect our current relationships and cause internal conflicts as well as self-esteem and mood issues. In addition to my Masters in Counseling Psychology, I have pursued advanced training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Please see my website for more information about my practice and approach. Thank you! |
