Pain and suffering are unpleasant but sometimes serve as great motivation for personal growth and lasting change. Many people have grown up in less than optimal families and need help sorting things out to live a happier and more fulfilling life. With 20 years of clinical experience, I work together with you to help make the changes that you desire. In our complex world, therapy can be an avenue for self-discovery and a means toward establishing and enhancing relationships with others and the world at large. I'm interested in mutually exploring your past and present experiences to help you to develop understanding about your life otherwise unavailable in ordinary conversation. Healing can take hold when two or more people collaboratively make meaningful sense of life. My areas of specialization include: the treatment of Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, Relational Issues, Dissociative Disorders, Personality Disorders, Trauma, and Christian Therapy. I allocate a percentage of my practice for reduced fee psychoanalysis which entails more frequent meetings in order to facilitate a deeper level of working on issues from the past that keep tripping a person up in the present. I am a member in good standing with the San Diego Psychological Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy, and the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology. |
